Q: Where did you go to college?
A: DeVry University
Q: What have been the top three highlights of your life?
A: I’ll start by saying, earning my college degree. My first son arrived when I was just eighteen. I joined the Air Force to support my family, so college had to wait. And wait. By the time I enrolled, I was raising six kids and holding down a demanding job in IT. You can imagine how good it felt to finally complete my degree.
The second highlight I would reference is, my trip to Italy. I’m a third-generation Italian and my grandparents didn’t speak English. A few years ago, I traveled to Italy with my wife, Cathy. I wasn’t prepared for how deeply I would feel my roots in that country. I would love to return.
Last, but not least – my wife is a true highlight in my life. And, I tell her every day.
Q: What is your favorite hobby?
A: I grew up on the Jersey Shore. Sun or rain, hot or cold, my dad strung the poles and we fished in the ocean. Subsequently, I took my kids fishing when they were growing up, and now they take their children fishing. It’s a relaxing pastime that’s rich with memories. I also enjoy metal detecting and reading science fiction.
Q: What’s your favorite book?
A: My favorite book is usually whatever I’ve just finished reading so right now it would be, “The Punch Escrow” by Tal M. Klein.
Q: What’s your favorite movie?
A: I’ve seen far better movies, but “Dune” fascinates me.
Q: Do you have a favorite quote/motto?
A: “Never give up, never surrender” (from the film “Galaxy Quest”)
Q: What’s your favorite part about your job?
A: The people!
Al’s personality, talent and extensive experience make him an excellent fit for the A2U team. We are thrilled to have him with us!
